News: Court says FCC Arbitrary and Capricious

Gee.. ABC (via AP of course)

threw out a $550,000 indecency fine against CBS Corp. for the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show that ended with Janet Jackson's breast-baring "wardrobe malfunction."

The three-judge panel of the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that the Federal Communications Commission "acted arbitrarily and capriciously" in issuing the fine for the fleeting image of nudity.

I don't think I was 'officially' blogging then, but I did say that the FCC was STACKED, (JUST LIKE THE 'Supremes') was by our Treasonist in Chief, BUSHKIE.

OK, you wanted a Political discussion: Here goes.

The background I believe that
* We're HEADING into a DEPRESSION.
* It's going to be as BAD as the last one.
* According to Robert Reich (former Sec'y of Labor under Clinton): The only number that he EVER saw, defining the
depression was that the unemployment rate hovered around 25%.
* We need a new deal.
* After 58 years of NO Health Care Reform (since 1950!) it will FINALLY be coming soon...
* We've managed to WASTE a FULL generation (from Zero to thirty) with decaying social, educational, and interpersonal skills.
* Our nation is no longer DOING (producing) anything.
SO, from these few premises, I have extrapolated a great deal of items to FIX our society...

But....
We need to make sure that a number of issues are resolved ALL at once.
If we don't do them ALL at once, its like juggling three RUNNING chain saws, but dropping one!

Here's what I came up with:

We need to do the FOLLOWING to FIX our Society:
* Create A Living Wage
* Create a National Single payer Healthcare
* Create a National 3-4 year draft (or alternate service)
* Create a Federally paid Day Care starting at six months
* Implement Tax Reform on the ULTRA Rich
* Lobbying (Political Reform)
* Education
* Infrastructure (road /bridge/Systems repairs)
* Lack of Training/futures
* Truth and Reconcilliation Commission
* A new "Manhattan" project, focusing on Energy INDEPENDENCE

WTF: Senator Sues G-d (God for you 'non-jewish' folken )

State Sen. Ernie Chambers sued God last week (reported yesterday by the AP via ABC).

Wait. There's an explanation!

and this is so disgusting, I've had to split it into TWO DIFFERENT Posts.

-------------------About the God Lawsuit!----------------------

Angered by another lawsuit he considers frivolous, Chambers says he's trying to make the point that anybody can file a lawsuit against anybody.

Sen. Chambers says that,

"God has made terroristic threats against the senator and his constituents, inspired fear and caused "widespread death, destruction and terrorization of millions upon millions of the Earth's inhabitants."

...SNIP...He also says God has caused "fearsome floods ... horrendous hurricanes, terrifying tornadoes."

He's seeking a permanent injunction against the Almighty.

The Omaha senator, who skips morning prayers during the legislative session and often criticizes Christians, was trying to make the point that anybody can file a lawsuit against anybody.

Chambers said Bowen’s lawsuit is inappropriate because the Nebraska Supreme Court has already considered the case and federal courts follow the decisions of state supreme courts on state matters.

Give me a BREAK.
THEN THE LAW needs to be adjusted.

G-d RESPONDS to lawsuit!

Today, the AP/ABC reports that there have been TWO responses to Chambers' suit against GOD.

One of two court filings from "God" came Wednesday under otherworldly circumstances, according to John Friend, clerk of the Douglas County District Court in Omaha.

"This one miraculously appeared on the counter. It just all of a sudden was here poof!" Friend said.

Chambers said he's trying to makes the point that anybody can sue anybody.
The response to the lawsuit disputes this and says:

Not so, says "God." His response argues that the defendant is immune from some earthly laws and the court lacks jurisdiction.

It adds that blaming God for human oppression and suffering misses an important point.

"I created man and woman with free will and next to the promise of immortal life, free will is my greatest gift to you," according to the response, as read by Friend.

There was no contact information on the filing, although St. Michael the Archangel is listed as a witness, Friend said.

The other response to Chambers' lawsuit disputing Chambers' allegations lists a phone number for a Corpus Christi law office. A message left for that office was not immediately returned Thursday.

Attempts to reach Senator Chambers by phone and at his Capitol office Thursday were unsuccessful.

Our Commander in Pajamas has AGAIN said "NO, NO, NO" (today: He is SUPPOSED to claim that HE (again, as Idiot in Chief) will be the ONLY ONE (NOT CONGRESS) to decide WHEN to withdraw the US TROOPS from IRAQ.


The CONTRARIAN says: (as I have said MANY MANY times!)


1) we needed 500,000 GROUND troops in IRAQ 4 years ago to secure the country.
NO troops, no success. THIS is the RESULT!

2) The war to make IRAQ free has ALREADY been LOST.

3) The BEST that we in the US of A can do now is PREVENT mass (two sided) GENOCIDE (aka civil war!)

4) We ABSOLUTELY need to TELL the PRESIDENT without a doubt that WE NEED our troops HOME

5) THE ONLY possible outcome (besides the US being in IRAQ until 2027) is that
THE UNITED NATIONS agrees to send in a MULTI-National force, to help the US.

5a) THe US must commit to at least 150,000 troops to support this UN force.


We have NO choice, we can SAY we will bring the troops home, but it is NOT feasible and is actually NOT the morally responsible thing to do now.

We need the following:

• Congressional children enlisting and going to IRAQ
• IMPEACHMENT of Dick CHENEY
• A National Reconciliation Commision, chaired by congress.
• All those testifying will receive immunity from PROSECUTION, but must answer EVERY Question, and NAME names.

• The Defense budget and War allocations must NOT be "special" allocations, but must go into the regular PENTAGON funding bills .
• We need to start socializing that Bush W has started the modern equivalent of the 100 year wars.

• The Hundred years wars were NOT called that originally. (Doy!)
• George Bush,and the NEO-CONS have managed to create an IMPOSSIBLE situation. PERMANENT WAR with NO consequenses for themselves

WE need a truth and reconcilliation commision NOW....
Either that or IMPEACHMENT, and then a WAR CRIMES TRIBUNAL!
