TecH: Google doing "wrong"?

OK latest Google Post.

Google Desktop's latest feature.
Seach your computer's contents (from another computer)
According to Red Herring Magazine the Electronic Freedom Foundation (EFF) has slammed this new feature. This new feature will index and copy the text based files on YOUR machine to Google's servers.

The EFF attributes the privacy problem not to Google but to the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) of 1986, which provided limited privacy protection for electronic data such as email.

The Solution EFF suggests? The EFF feels Google should stand with EFF and demand that Congress update the privacy laws to better reflect life in the wired world.

My Answer? Meh.
Never happen.
USA Patriot Act
Illegal Spying on Citizens by the White House.
Illegal removal of Americans' Rights

Factoid Fact:
Did you know that the European Union (EU) has STRICTER privacy laws then the United States?

My Real Answer: don't Install Google Desktop now, unless you disable this feature, which is enabled by default!
