GeekY: Nerds for Sale, get your Nerds HERE!

Gotta hand it to them Nerds!

Yeah, them nerds at Washington State University. The geeks over there admit they're geeky.

The president of the Linux users group at the University admit they're "date-challenged", and have come up with a unique way to fix that. Simply put, they are hoping to raffle themselves off to female bidders.

Ben Ford, president of the Linux Users Group at WSU said, "You can buy a nerd and he'll fix your computer, help you with stats homework, or if you're really adventurous, take you to dinner!"

He explained, "The problem is that we're all still nerds. Let's face it, guys. If anyone's going to bid on us, we'll need some spicing up," he wrote on the website. "And who better to help with that than sorority girls who like nothing better than a makeover?"

But Wait!

There's really an important issue here that you might miss, (blink and miss it!)

WSU Professor Moon Lee, who teaches a Public Relations Class, offered to help the computer group recruit more women into computer science programs.

Professor Moon Lee said that ...{The PR Class concluded} "that they need to promote themselves better, then specific ideas were presented to them," said "They made suggestions to work with specific groups such as sororities. Sorority groups tend to have a very good social network."

But Wait!

There's another question (MARK sez:)
What about the case where the woman wants to Buy the guy, and keep him?
Is there a lifetime warranty in effect for these geeks?

LOL. They may be geeky but they are not dumb. Now the whole campus knows they want dates, and that might just encourage some woman to step up and ask one of them out.

I could see this being the plot to a silly movie. Maybe they could call it Geek For Hire.
