HOT: (VERY) Scary headline of the day: UPdated!

The REG tells us:

Be SCARED..

Be VERY VERY Skareed...

I wought I saw a Wocket... No, it was a mwissle... No it was a Wrocket.

The Islamic Republic definitely launched something over the weekend.

Iranian media described the device as a rocket capable of reaching space.

Iran later appeared to downplay the significance of the launch, saying the rocket launch was for research purposes only, and that the rocket was not in orbit.

Officials pointedly denied it had launched a "missile".

Iranian media apparently implied the rocket could be used to put commercial satellites into orbit. If it can be used to put commercial satellites up, presumably spy satellites will be a breeze.
Other citations, NOTABLY none in the US press yet (I wonder why???!!!)

CBS Analyst's comment
"If the missile is adaptable for nuclear warheads, then they are well on the way. But they have not made a nuclear warhead yet. The current estimates are it could take five years."
