Google Update: 2008: Chrome (and google rehash)

OK: I ignored (until now) Chrome. Google's new browser, it's answer to Firefox.

But now I am also:

Re-stating my long term predictions for Google.

2) Long term Predictions about Google:
First What's come true:
a) A Google data center in a box (now marketed as a product by SUN)
A 40 foot Tractor trailer (can be stacked on top of each other), containing Thousands of servers.

b) A Phone (the G-phone) now available from T-mobile.

c) Purchase of rights to Thousands of "dark fiber" from other carriers.

NOW Short term predictions:

2.1 The Google PC: I see this as a $40 to $100 add-on that will essentially give google a, "yes, I agree to Google's ads (and content) being served to them.
2.2 The Google Ad contracts with the major networks. I predict this will allow them the rights to pre-empt national ads, and replace them for the networks and advertisers.
(example: A domino's commercial will run with your local location on screen, and a button to click to let you ordersomething online...)

Now:

Long term prediction:

They take the data centers, they take the fiber, they serve us commercials.
They then tell us we can use THEM as their ISP...

Game over. Everyone else go home!

I don't make this up folks.

Our great dictator and Puppet Master in Washington has NOW said he will NOT submit the REQUIRED Documents that are requested of ALL people in the WHITE House discussing CLASSIFIED TOP Secret documents that they are withholding.

Now that is a sentence in itself, BUT Essentially our Dictator in Chief has said that he doesnt believe in publicizing things, he likes secrecy, and he will NOT submit ONE more document to the VERY office he is attempting to SHUT DOWN.

Last time I checked, NSPD51 (NSPD-51) has NOT been declared effective yet, so WE STiLL have a valid constitution, and can thus say this.

I really DONT think it (our freedom) has ANYTHING to do with Dick Cheney.

Voting Machines: The TRUTH about the LAST FL. Election!

Ah. It starts to get interesting again.
Despite the Register's Dislike of The Cringe (The REAL PC industry Gossip columnist for the past 20 years...)---{WAY before the REG was created of course!}

Robert Cringely reports (from HERE) that The 2006 election which lost 18,000 votes WAS CAUSED by a SECURITY lapse that was FOUR YEARS old of the SLAMMER SQL worm.

Note to self: Don't give TMI (too much information-- look HERE )
The slammer worm was essentially a security breach on servers, which quickly takes a network down!

At any rate, the VOTER IMPACT of the SCANDAL is OBVIOUS:

Republican Vern Buchanan was ultimately certified as the winner over Democrat Jennings by just 369 votes.

An ongoing investigation by state officials has been unable to determine the cause of some 18,000 so-called undervotes (votes that were reportedly cast but not recorded) registered only on Democratic-leaning Sarasota's touch-screen voting systems.

Gee. Can you SAY REPUBLICIAN monkey business???

IS about to have his 2004 OHIO election results INVESTIGATED by a SPECIAL PROSECUTOR in OHIO...

THE REG REPORTS: New criminal investigation into Ohio elections:

After reading a report compiled by election board public monitor CSU's Candice Hoke., the County Prosecutor ...snip... read the report and said there were several "worrying" things within.

Like:

• It looks as though someone had (unathorized) access to the system.
• people with access to the election computer shared the same password.
• Keys to the tabulation room were kept in an unlocked box.
• A cable to the computer controlling the election was apparently left plugged in all night on the evening of the election.

Now a special prosecutor has been appointed to investigate.

And interestingly enough, the new special prosecutor was the man behind the investigations that led to last week's conviction of two election workers for rigging the recount in the 2004 presidential elections.

Hmmm.. Can we overturn the NIGHTMARE????

The Register shows us that e-voting machines could be made to record inaccurate voting preferences and

even be reprogrammed to run a chess program.

Will they belive White Spy won against Black spy by 3499 votes?

According to (...snip...) a representative from Irish Citizens for Trustworthy E-Voting (ICTE), the machines hacked by the IT professionals, were almost exact replicas of those selected by the Irish Government for use in elections here in Ireland.

The machines are so similar that the Dutch group has been using only the technical reference manuals and materials relevant to the Irish machines as a guide, as those are the only materials publicly available," he added.

To quote a phrase attributed to the late Mayor of Chicago, "Richard Daley (Sr.), VOTE Early, and VOTE OFTEN. To which I add. I prefer the BLACK SPY.

I am not happy, and this is yet ANOTHER reason to ENSURE OUR POLITICAL system gets REBALANCED from the ALL--->Right sided representation we have today!!!
